LT. Mike Stone ferme le dossier

Karl Malden a toujours eu une figure de dur de policier de détective ayant joué dans des dizaines de drames policiers le personnage lui colla à la peau pendant toute sa grande carrière sous les caméras……………

Né à Chicago le 22 mars 1912 Mladen George Sekulovich fils de Petar Sekulovich Serbe en Bosnie Herzégovine etde sa mère Czech du nom de Minnie(Sebera) Sekulovich. Le jeune Mladen parlait couramment le Serbe. Il commença jeune dans le monde des médias en participant à des chorales préparées par son père pour l’association Serbe dans les églises de la communauté.

Plus jeune Malden était un enfant assez sportif et il excellait en basketball et justement c’est au basketball qu’il se fit arrangé le nez de cette façon avec des coups de coudes répétitifs pendant ses attaques au panier. Il espérait avoir une bourse sportive pour poursuivre ses études mais il fut refusé alors il décida d’aller travailler à l’aciérie où son père travaillait pour aidé la famille à s’en sortir.

Il décida un jour de commercialisé son nom en se faisant appeler Karl Malden vers l’âge de 22 ans. Vous remarquerez que dans plusieurs de ses films il aimait prononcer son vrai nom de famille soit Sekulovich en l’utilisant pour nommer quelqu’un comme dans  ‘’Patton’’ Birdman of Alcatraz’’ ’’Dead Ringer’’et plusieurs autres. Il quittera le foyer pour poursuivre ses études en art dramatique à Chicago.

Il voyagera à New York pour jouéé des pièces à Broadway en 1937 et il aura même des contrats comme animateur de radio. Il aura des rôles importants dans ‘’A Streetcar Named Desire’’(1951) et ‘’On The waterfront’’. Même qu’un jour il donnera la réplique à un jeune inconnu du nom de Marlon Brando dans le film ‘’Truckline Cafe’’ . Pendant les années 50s et 60s il jouera dans plusieurs productions comme ‘’Birdman of Alcatraz’’ et ‘’How The west Was Won’’ .

Le producteur Quinn martin l’aura dans sa mire pour le rôle d’un lieutenant de police dans la série ‘’The Streets of San Francisco. On le verra apparaitre dans des tonnes de séries policières comme ‘’Hawai Five-O , Adam-12 , Ironside , McMillan and Wife , Kojack , Barnaby Jones , The Rockford Files , Switch et plusieurs autres. Les dernières apparitions de monsieur Malden furent en 2001 dans une épisode de la série West Wing.

Malheureusement monsieur Karl Malden rendit l’âme le 1er Juillet 2009 dans sa maison de Brentwood proche de L.A. à l’âge de 97 ans , mes condoléances à toute la famille et amis de Karl Malden.
