Le 8 mars 1943 une autre future vedette du nom de Lynn Rachel Redgrave vient au monde à Marylebone, Londres. Elle est la sœur de l’actrice Vanessa Redgrave et de son frère Corin Redgrave. Elle sera la tante des acteurs et actrices Carlo Gabriel Nero, Joely Richardson, Jemma Redgrave et Natasha Richardson.

Elle apprendra le métier à Londres et fera ses débuts en 1962, dans les même années 60s elle sera de plusieurs grandes productions comme ‘’Tom Jones’’(1963), Georgy Girl(1966).En 1967 elle fait ses débuts à Broadway et donnera des performances dans plusieurs productions de New York, Elle aura la chance de jouer avec sa sœur dans le film (Three Sisters’’ et sera d’une production télévisée ‘’What Happened to baby jane?’’. Elle fera un retour sur le grand écran dans les années 90s dans ‘’Shine’’(1996) et ‘’Gods and Monters’’(1998).

Comme je disais auparavant après ses études en théâtre au Central School of Speech and Drama elle fait ses débuts professionnel dans la pièce ‘’A Midsummer Night’s Dream’’ au Royal Court Théâtre. Après une tournée de ‘’Billy Liar’’ et ‘’Repertory’’ et ‘’Dundee’’ , elle sera de la distribution ‘’The Tulip Tree’’ avec Celia Johnson et John Clements.

Elle sera invitée pour joindre le théâtre national pour inaugurer la nouvelle saison au ‘’Old Vick theatre’’ avec un directeur du nom de Laurence Olivier. avec Franco Zeffirelli et Noel Coward dans le rôle de Rose dans les pièces ‘’The Recruiting Officer’’, ‘’Barblin in Andorra’’,Jackie in ‘’Hay Fever’’, Kattrin dans ‘’Mother Courage’’, Prue dans ‘’Love for Love’’ et Margaret dans ‘’Much Ado About Nothing ce qui l’occupera pendant 3 ans.

Plusieurs productions aurons la chance de la compter dans ses équipes comme dans les films comme : Tom Jones(1963), Girl with Green Eyes(1964), ‘’The Deadly Affair(1966) et Georgy Girl(1966). À Broadway en 1967 elle joue dans la pièce ‘’Black Comedy’’ avec Michael Crawford et Géraldine Page. Elle fera du théâtre pendant les années 70s à Broadway dans ‘’My Fat Friend’’, ‘’Knock Knock’’ avec Charles Durning et dans ‘’Mrs Warren’s Profession ‘’ avec Ruth Gordon et beaucoup d’autres pièces.

En 1983 elle aura le rôle de Cléopâtre dans la version télévisé de ‘’Anthony and Cleopatra’’. Elle seras de ‘’Misalliance’’ à Chicago et au festival de Shakespeare dans la pièce ‘’Twelfth Night’’, The King and I’’, ‘’Hellzapoppin’’ , Les Dames du Jeudi’ , Les Liaisons Dangereuses’’, ‘’The Cherry Orchard. En 1988 elle fera la narration du documentaire ‘’Silent Mouse’’ qui raconte l’histoire de la création du ‘’Christmas Carol Silent Night’’. Elle aura un rôle avec Stewart Granger et Ricardo Montalban dans la production ‘’Don Juan in Hell’’.

Elle retournera à Londres pour son rôle d’Olga avec sa soeur comme co-star dans la pièce ‘’Three Sisters’’ en 1991 au Queen’s Théâtre et fera de la télévision et aura plusieurs apparitions à la BBC pour des productions comme ‘’The Faint-Hearted Feminist, A Woman Alone, Death of a Son, Calling the Shots et Fighting Back. L’actrice fut très connue aux États-Unis dans la série américaine ‘’House Calls’’. En 1993, elle sera élue présidente au club de théâtre et bastion historique du théâtre américain ‘’The Players’’. Elle fera en 2007 une épisode de ‘’Desperate Housewives’’ sous le rôle de Dahlia Hainsworth. En 2005 elle écrit un scénario d’une femme ce battant contre le cancer du sein basé des informations de son propre journal de 2003 ou elle subit une Mastectomie et de la chimiothérapie. Elle rendra l’âme le 2 mai 2010 âgée de 67 ans juste après la perte de son frère Corin Redgrave du cancer aussi le 6 avril 2010 à 70 ans.
